I'm a recovering perfectionist, and boy, was I an overachiever! Picture this: first-born daughter to immigrant parents, acing those grades, being the teacher's pet – all while doing my rebellion on the down-low. University swept me off my feet, and I fell head over heels in love with social work. It was like social justice, psychology, and a sprinkle of feminism all rolled into one perfect fit.

Fast forward to me hustling for those internships, scoring a full caseload within 6 months of graduating, and bam – I was in private practice, teaching straight out of my Master’s degree. I had nailed the game of perfectionism with my career. But, you know what they say about best-laid plans...
Next on the checklist was the perfect personal life – the bad-boy phase, finding Mr. Right (tall, dark, handsome, and hilariously charming), the house with the white picket fence, the dream jobs, the travels – you name it, I checked it off. Then, life threw a curveball. Trying to start a family led me down a path I never anticipated. Suddenly, at 37, I found myself widowed. Yep, not in the perfect plan, right?

That's when I learned that perfection is just a load of shit - we are promised all the rewards if only we do life perfectly. Turns out, life doesn't play by those rules. Grief taught me the hard way that perfection leads to disconnection – disconnection from myself and others. But here's the juicy part: connection, that messy, beautifully human experience, is the road to fulfillment.

Since then, I've been on a mission to help folks build and anchor their lives in connection – to themselves and others. Why? Because all the fun, joy, and downright juiciness of life happen in connection. Life is like a giant party, and it's amped up when we're connected to our values, dreams, and visions. Once we're authentically connected to ourselves, we can forge real, genuine connections with others.

So, let's kick perfection to the curb and dive into the messy, wonderful world of connection. Because life's a party, and you're invited to dance like nobody's watching!
